Welcome to St. James Family
At St James, we are a welcoming Christian community
made up of people from many cultures, languages, and generations.
We are united by God’s love, rooted in Jesus Christ,
and shaped by prayer, Scripture,
and the renewing work of the Holy Spirit.
Our diversity is one of God’s gifts to us which make who we are.
We believe church is not just a place
where different people only sit side by side,
but a family where we learn from one another,
worship together, are shaped by one another,
and engage in God’s mission together.
In our worship, we pray, read the Bible,
and sing in different languages and from different cultures,
including English, Tamil, Hindi, Arabic,
and other languages spoken by members of our church family.
We want St James to be a living sign of God’s welcome
— “a house of prayer for all nations” (Isaiah 56:7) —
where everyone can find belonging, friendship,
and space to grow closer to God, to one another,
and to the calling God has placed on their lives.

It's one of the ways we celebrate
the God-given diversity among us.
Come ready to taste, connect,
and rejoice in the richness of God's family.
This summer, from 22 June to 22 August,
we are invited to sail together through
the season with our Daily Spiritual Snacks — short daily reflections rooted in Scripture and inspired by the themes of Rooted in God’s Love.
Each day, except Sundays,
there will be a simple thought, prayer,
and small practice to help us pause, listen to God, and grow more deeply rooted in His love.
Summer can often be a scattered season, with people travelling, resting, or moving in different rhythms, but this shared journey gives us a gentle way to remain connected with God and with one another.
As we sail through the summer together,
may these daily moments help us receive God’s invitation, trust his promises, practise honesty, find healing, and rediscover rest, hope, and joy in Christ.

Sunday 10.30 am Holy Communion Service.
This is the main church service for everyone. it is structured yet ground-breaking and new. Songs are sung in multiple languages; the Bible is read in other languages and people are encouraged to pray in their mother tongues. This makes the service more welcoming and inclusive to people from different cultures.
PS. Arrive at 10am on Sunday for pastries/fruit and tea/coffee
or anytime before 12:15 if you are running late!
Wednesday 10.30 am Holy Communion Service.
A smaller number of people attend this midweek Holy Communion service. Once a month the service follows the “Book of Common Prayer.” The group has developed a link with the NHS who have been running health checks and chair-based exercises following the service.
